INFORG will be screened the 28th of september during the first round of shorts at the Soundscreen Film Festival in Ravenna, Italy. I’m planning to visit the festival!
Very nice to see 2 films of my heroin Maya Deren being scheduled in the festival programme. Her dance-inspired avantgarde films, made in the USA during the 2nd world war, coincidentally belong to the biggest influences for the making of my own film INFORG.
About the festival (taken from the Italian filmreview website Taxidrivers.it, published this week):
“One of the few festivals recognized by MiBACT this year – Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Soundscreen Film Festival announces a rich program, with projected projections not only in attendance but also in streaming mode, to always attract a wider audience. There are numerous previews and special events, such as the now traditional Satellite Events, or the great classics of cinema played live by the best musicians of the Italian indie scene. The highlight of the festival remains the International Competition for Feature Films, flanked by the International Competition for Short Films, a careful selection of the best and most recent film productions in the world.
The special prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 3 October: the jury of the International Feature Film Competition will award the prizes to the best feature film, the best direction and the special jury prize. The SSFF audience instead determines the prize for the best short film in competition.”
